For many years I had no connection to drawing, and although I was always creative with projects, and the process of development. I never discovered fine art until I went to high school.
In fact the total number of drawings or paintings that I have done can be counted on the fingers of my hands.
It was in high school that our art teacher recognised I had a talent and encouraged me to explore it.
Now, I have just graduated from year 12 and enrolled into University to study fine art.
I am excited as I find this a natural talent for me that I enjoy.... and also a talent that I would like to use to change the perception of what art is about.
Not only do I get inspiration from the result, I get inspiration from the subject... every wrinkle tells a story of some great people and the hard life they have endured

The use of a graphite pencil, although to some is considered as black and white result, to me it accentuates the true character of the subject and brings out tones and definition that is lost in colour.
I would like to get commissions to do more works to build my portfolio ... Please get in contact to negotiate price.

It is often said that books recorded early history... yet for thousands of years, even before the writing of the written word was accomplished, drawings were the recorders of history.
They were replaced for a time by books, and then the camera over the last century or so....
But, I often thought how skilled they were, how challenging it would be to draw a person, a scene or an object with the same perfection as a photograph.
The challenge is not replicating realism, it is conveying power. A power seen within the subject that inspires. A feeling and emotion i aim to capture.
